About Luci-Kali…
Afro-Dominican mujerista/feminist, “prettyboy-chasing” queer, hip-hop/metal/goth hybrid, quasi-blogger, occasional poet, self-proclaimed geek, undetectable weightlifter, multi-lingual thinker (Spanish, German, and the occasional Portuguese), Presidente beer lover, highly caffeinated employee in the non-profit world of sexual and reproductive health and justice.
People would say the following about me: initially reserved, incredibly stubborn, highly impatient (…see I can name my flaws), rebellious soul, moderately militant, optimistic pessimist, damn strong, damn short, straight-up BK (Brooklyn) a.k.a battle-ready, an advocate for sexual health and rights, a just as cynical version of Huey (the Boondocks), conflicted and complicated like Zuko (Avatar: the Last Airbender), sarcastic like Toph (again, Avatar), the equivalent of Buttercup (Powerpuff Girls).
Admittedly, I’m seeking spiritual and philosophical revelations through Avatar.
And oh, motherfuck gentrification.

Dear Luci-Kali:
I’d love for you to consider contributing to the anthology I’m compiling, What We Think: Gender Roles, Women’s Issues and Feminism in the 21st Century.
Check it out and let me know what you think:
